Legal Information
Last updated: 2 November 2026
This page sets out the legal information, corporate disclosures and operating rules that apply to this website and to the magazine, newsletter and advertising services offered through it. It is published so that readers, subscribers, advertisers, suppliers and regulators can see exactly who operates this publication, how that operator is registered, what rules govern use of the site and how any question or complaint can be raised. It should be read together with the Privacy Policy, the Cookie Policy, the Terms and Conditions and the Payment and Refund Policy, each of which forms part of the agreement between you and us.
1. Who We Are and the Role of the Website Operator
This website is owned, published and operated by BulletZo.com, referred to on this page as "we", "us", "our" or "the Publisher". We are an independent South African publisher of entertainment, celebrity and popular-culture journalism, and we are the operator of every page, article, newsletter, image gallery and service offered under this domain.
The website operator is the party that decides what is published, how the site is run, which service providers are used and why personal information is collected. For the purposes of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) we are the responsible party for the personal information processed through this website, through our newsletters, through our reader correspondence and through any competition we run.
We work with freelance journalists, photographers, illustrators, video producers, advertising partners, subscription agents, payment processors and delivery partners. Depending on the arrangement, those parties act either as independent operators or as our operators under POPIA. We remain accountable for personal information that we hand to them for processing on our behalf, and we require them to protect it and to use it only for the purpose for which it was given.
We also publish advertising and sponsored features from time to time. Where content is paid for or commercially linked, it is labelled as such. Commercial arrangements do not reduce our editorial responsibility for the accuracy of what we publish.
2. Legal Form, Registration Details, Tax Identifiers and Responsible Persons
The following statutory information identifies the legal entity behind this website. It is disclosed so that anyone dealing with us can establish precisely which entity they are contracting with.
- Legal form: a private company incorporated with limited liability in the Republic of South Africa in terms of the Companies Act 71 of 2008.
- Company Registration Number: 2026/014818/07.
- Country of registration and registering authority: South Africa, registered with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC).
- VAT Status: not registered for value-added tax. No VAT is charged and no VAT number is displayed, because the entity is not required to register at its current turnover level.
- Responsible representative: the publisher is managed by its appointed director and by an Information Officer who is accountable for compliance with POPIA and the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA), and for the accuracy of the disclosures on this page.
- Licences and permissions: publishing general editorial content on the internet in South Africa does not require a licence. Where we sell goods, run promotional competitions or process card payments, we comply with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA) and the rules of the payment industry.
- Self-regulatory bodies and codes of conduct: we are not a member of any self-regulatory body and we do not subscribe to an external code of conduct. Where we follow voluntary editorial standards, we do so as a matter of policy rather than as a binding industry commitment.
This information is published in line with section 43 of ECTA, which requires commercial online suppliers in South Africa to disclose their identifying details, and in line with POPIA, which requires transparency about the responsible party. Should any of these details change, this page will be updated and the date shown at the top of the page will change with it.
3. Registered Office and Contact Details
Our registered office and principal place of business is at 14 7th Avenue, Parktown North, Johannesburg, 2193, South Africa. Formal notices, legal documents and business correspondence should be addressed to that place of business, and correspondence sent there is treated as received by us.
Email is our primary contact channel for reader questions, corrections, data protection requests, advertising enquiries and legal notices. You can reach us at support@bulletzo.com. Please include enough detail for us to identify who you are and what you need, and tell us how you would like us to reply.
Contact form. Our Contacts page contains a contact form that routes messages to our editorial and administrative team. You can use it for general enquiries, corrections, takedown requests, press queries or feedback about the site. Messages sent through the form are received in the same queue as email and are handled in the order in which they arrive.
Our published contact channels are email and the contact form. We ask readers to use written channels because they create an accurate record of a request, which helps us respond properly and, where necessary, show that we have dealt with a concern. If you are unsure where to direct a message, send it by email and we will route it internally.
4. Purpose, Scope and Intended Audience of the Website
This website is a commercial digital publication. Its purpose is to publish and distribute entertainment journalism, celebrity news, interviews, reviews, opinion, photography, video and related popular-culture coverage, and to offer related paid products and services such as magazine subscriptions, single-issue sales, digital editions, newsletters and advertising placements.
The site is aimed primarily at readers in South Africa and secondarily at readers elsewhere who follow South African popular culture. Content is published in English. The site is intended for a general adult audience; where content deals with mature themes, it is presented in an editorial context and is not directed at children.
Our content is editorial and informational in nature. It is not financial, legal, medical or other professional advice, and it should not be relied on as a substitute for professional guidance. We report on the lives and work of public figures; where we make a factual error we correct it, and we accept responsibly submitted requests for a right of reply.
The scope of the site includes the blog and its archive, newsletter sign-up and delivery, competition entry where offered, subscription purchasing and account management, and the contact and legal pages. We do not operate a customer review or star-rating function on this site, and any testimonials quoted are drawn from editorial coverage rather than from a review platform.
5. Access To and Acceptable Use of the Website
Access to the public parts of this website is free of charge and does not require registration. Some features, such as subscribing to a paid edition or entering a competition, may require you to provide information or to create an account. By accessing or using the site you agree to the rules in this section and in the Terms and Conditions.
5.1 Permitted use
- You may read, view and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use.
- You may share links to our pages through social media, messaging apps and email.
- You may quote short extracts with clear attribution to this website, provided the quotation is fair and does not misrepresent the original article.
- You may contact us to request permission for any use that goes beyond the above.
5.2 Conduct we do not allow
- Copying, republishing, scraping or systematically downloading substantial parts of the site or its archives.
- Using automated tools to harvest content, contact addresses or reader data.
- Attempting to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, its servers or its administration systems.
- Uploading or transmitting malicious code, spam, phishing material or unlawful content.
- Using the site in a way that infringes the rights of any person, including defamation, harassment or invasion of privacy.
- Misrepresenting your identity or your connection with us or with any public figure featured on the site.
5.3 Accounts, subscriptions and security
Where you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your sign-in details confidential and for all activity that takes place under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission so that we can secure it.
5.4 Consequences of misuse
If you breach these rules we may, depending on the seriousness of the breach, remove content you have submitted, suspend or close your account, block access from a particular device or network, or take legal steps. We try to act proportionately and, where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why we have taken a step.
6. Ownership and Permitted Use of Content, Trade Marks and Other Intellectual Property
6.1 Our content
All editorial text, headlines, photographs, illustrations, graphics, video, audio, page designs, layouts and databases on this website are protected by copyright and, where applicable, by other intellectual property rights. Unless we say otherwise, those rights belong to us or are licensed to us by contributors and agencies. Copyright in third-party images used for reporting purposes remains with the rights holder and is used under the relevant permission or exception.
6.2 What you may do
You may read our content, share links to it and quote short extracts with attribution. You may not republish articles in full, resell our content, use it to train commercial systems, or present it as your own. Any use beyond personal reading and fair quotation requires our prior written permission.
6.3 Trade marks and brand
The name and logo of BulletZo.com, and the titles of our newsletters, features and events, are our trade marks or brand assets. You may refer to us by name in a factual, non-misleading way, but you may not use our marks in a way that suggests endorsement, partnership or sponsorship without our written consent. You may not register or use a domain name, social media handle or brand that is confusingly similar to ours.
6.4 Complaints about content
If you believe that material on this site infringes your copyright, your trade mark or another right, contact us by email at support@bulletzo.com with enough detail to identify the material and explain your concern. We investigate every notice and, where a complaint is well founded, we remove or amend the material.
7. Accuracy, Availability and Proportionate Limitations of Liability
7.1 Accuracy of content
We work to high editorial standards, but journalism about people and events can contain errors, and reporting reflects information available at the time of publication. We correct significant factual errors and publish corrections where they are warranted. Content is not professional advice, and you should not act on it as though it were.
7.2 Availability
We aim to keep the website available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. Maintenance, updates, network problems, cyber incidents and events beyond our control may interrupt the service. We may also change, suspend or withdraw parts of the site, including archives and features.
7.3 Limits of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data or loss of opportunity arising from your use of, or inability to use, the website. Where we are liable, our liability is limited to the amount you paid to us for the relevant service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or to a reasonable sum where no payment was made. Nothing on this page excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, such as liability for fraud.
7.4 Your consumer rights are not affected
Nothing in this section reduces the rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, ECTA or any other law that protects consumers in South Africa.
8. External Links and Third-Party Content
Our pages may link to other websites and may embed or quote third-party material such as social media posts, video players, images and data feeds. Those services are controlled by their own operators, not by us. We do not control their content, their availability or their privacy practices, and a link does not mean that we endorse everything published there.
When you follow a link to a third-party service, that service's own terms and privacy notices apply to your use of it. We encourage you to read them. If you believe that third-party material we have embedded is unlawful, misleading or infringing, tell us at support@bulletzo.com and we will consider whether to remove or replace it.
Advertising and sponsored content shown on the site is supplied by advertisers or advertising partners. Advertising is labelled so that it can be distinguished from editorial content. We are not responsible for the products or services offered by advertisers, and any contract you enter into with an advertiser is between you and that advertiser.
9. How This Page Relates to Our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Terms and Conditions, and Payment and Refund Policy
This page is a general legal notice. The detailed rules that govern specific activities are set out in separate policies, and each of them forms part of our agreement with you.
- The Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and what rights you have under POPIA, including how to make a data subject access request and how to complain to the Information Regulator.
- The Cookie Policy explains which cookies and similar technologies we use, what each category does, and how you can accept, refuse or delete them through the cookie banner shown on the site.
- The Terms and Conditions set out the contract for using the website and for buying subscriptions, digital editions and other products, including rules on accounts, competitions and acceptable use.
- The Payment and Refund Policy explains how payments are processed, when a purchase is confirmed, when a refund is due, and how the seven-day right to cancel an online purchase under ECTA works in practice. Delivery and returns information for physical editions forms part of the same policy.
Where this page and a specific policy appear to conflict, the specific policy prevails for the activity it governs, and this page prevails for the corporate and legal disclosures it contains.
10. Applicable Law, Jurisdiction and Consumer Dispute Rights
This website and everything published on it are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. The South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from the use of this website, subject to the rights that consumer law gives you to approach a court or forum that is convenient for you.
If you are a consumer, the Consumer Protection Act gives you the right to approach the National Consumer Commission, a consumer court, an ombud or another forum where the law allows. You may also have the right to refer a complaint about data protection to the Information Regulator (South Africa) under POPIA. Before taking a dispute further, we ask you to raise it with us directly so that we have the chance to resolve it.
Where a sale is concluded online, ECTA and the Consumer Protection Act give you cooling-off and refund rights as described in the Payment and Refund Policy. Nothing in this legal notice asks you to give up those rights.
11. Complaints, Changes to This Page and the Last-Updated Date
If something on this site concerns you, send a message to support@bulletzo.com or use the contact form on our Contacts page. Please describe the issue, tell us which page or product it relates to, and include any reference numbers you have. We acknowledge messages and aim to respond within a reasonable period, normally within five business days. If we need longer because an investigation is required, we will tell you so and keep you updated.
We may update this page from time to time to reflect changes in our business, our suppliers, our products or the law. The version published here is the version in force. The date shown at the top of the page tells you when it was last changed. If a change is significant, we will make it visible on the site so that you have a reasonable opportunity to see it.
